Monia and Diego love the autumn colors (me too!), they wanted an elegant historic venue and they choose Casina di Macchia Madama, as thei website tells: “On the top of Monte Mario, near the ruins of the Villa sung by Marziale, on the site where the emperors of the Holy Roman Empire camped in the Middle Ages, is the current Casina di Macchia Madama.
It takes its name from the wood that encloses it, whose toponym dates back to Margaret of Austria, daughter of Charles V, who after marrying Alessandro dé Medici, was the owner.”
The rite vas celebrated into the SS. Cuore di Maria at Foro Traiano Church in Rome,in the rione Trevi, an 18th century confraternity and titular church.
Then we decided to go for a walk at Campidoglio for some pics. The Capitol, also called Monte Capitolino (Mons Capitolinus), is one of the seven hills on which Rome was founded. Its height is 48 m a.s.l. on the Arx (current Basilica of S. Maria in Aracoeli), 35.9 m a.s.l. in the Asylum (now Piazza del Campidoglio) and 44.7 m a.s.l. on the Capitolium proper (Palazzo Caffarelli). [1] The Campidoglio is also the representative seat of the municipality of Rome.
